NCLearn Update

17/11/04 Newcastle Learning Partnership have just commissioned MITAC Partnership Ltd upgrade to their ground-breaking Choices / Course Finder website, NCLearn. A quick turnaround is expected.

The first NCLearn website for Newcastle 14-19 Partnership set the standard for similar websites for Gateshead and South Tyneside. However, as both Logic@16 (Gateshead) and ST19 (South Tyneside) also broke new ground in terms of content management and use of the LSC's CourseFinder database, an update of the original is required.

The new site is being designed by Joan Nicklin who will also produce Newcastle's new Prospectus for 14-19 learners at the end of the year. The rest of the team will realise the design as a web template and CSS stylesheet before handing over the project to Jonathan Porter (ne-web ltd) to add database programming and formatting. The final part of the project will involve adding initial content and training Newcastle colleagues to keep the site up to date.

30/08/05 The Learning Partnership have just agreed to a further set of upgrades to NCLearn which will improve accessibility and make more effective use of dynamic News and Success Story elements. There will be no interuption to the website while the changes are being made. The new site is expected to be available by the end of September 2005.
