Projects Pending

There are interesting times ahead for MITAC Partnership Ltd with a clutch of new and prospective projects on the horizon. Just starting is a new web version of our World of Work Database.

The original project ran from 2002-2004 and produced two CD-ROM versions of a database that was able to record student assessments from work experience placements and produce a certificate to authenticate achievement. The web project is in two phases. The first phase will simplify the CD-ROM database and make it available from a website. The second phase will allow students to keep diary entries via a login to the website and so share their experiences with parents and others and print their own certificates. We'll post more news as the project develops.

Recent months have also seen a change of direction in terms of our use of E2E Passport software. The emphasis is now much more on offering new applications based on the Passport model. To this end we have almost completed a new installation for the North East Refugee Service (NERS) to support refugees and asylum seekers as they make progress towards work or further learning. Another new Passport derivative (ProgressMap 14+) is also well advanced and there are plans for a school-based Durham version. Each project has unique characteristics that make them challenging and exciting new directions.
