 The YCIS (Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service) website was designed to provide information about cochlear implants to adults and children and their families about cochlear implants. YCIS has developed nationally recognised programmes for assessing children and adults with severe to profound hearing loss and successfully completed over 330 adult and paediatric cochlear implants.
The site offers advice and information covering types of implant, procedures for children and adults, after-effects and recovery, and contact details for the YCIS bases in Bradford and Sheffield. There is also a news section and support for people wishing to help the Service raise funds.
