New Sunderland Portal

Sunderland HomeMITAC Partnership Ltd is pleased to announce a new project for Sunderland 14-19 Partnership based on successful course finder portals developed for Gateshead, Newcastle and South Tyneside.

It's great to start a new year with a new project. Although development is still in the very earliest stages, the team is already very excited about the new course finder portal for Sunderland.

Project Manager, Ian Reid, believes work completed for Gateshead has broken new ground in terms of describing learning choices for 14-19 year olds by sector - he hopes to adopt a similar approach with the Sunderland project. He adds, "Our work for other local authorities has already received national recognition from DfES. However, we still can't afford to be complacent and believe our sector-based approach is in sympathy with the recent 14-19 White Paper which heralds the introduction of sector-based qualifications." The new site will also feature a resources library for professionals supporting 14-19 learners.

Sunderland Interim DesignThe graphic above shows the first of three prospective designs for the new site which were presented to the client in early January. The design right shows work in progress as of 3rd February 2006. Ian comments, "We still anticipate changes to the design and the organisation of the information on the site following consultation with our clients. The site is functioning and available and I am happy that we are well enough ahead of schedule to meet extensive changes and still meet our go-live deadline."
